Liam Neeson may be almost done with the Taken franchise, but he’s certainly not wanting for future jobs. Neeson is currently attached to star in the remake of Rupert Wyatt’s The Escapist.

The news that Neeson will star in the project came courtesy of Collider. While no one currently sits in the director’s chairs, Sean O’Keefe is set to write the script.

Wyatt’s original starred Brian Cox, Damian Lewis, Joseph Fiennes and Dominic Cooper. As Digital Spy noted, the plot revolved around Cox’s lifetime-sentenced character seeking to break out of prison in order to see his sick daughter. Wyatt, who achieved Hollywood success by directing Rise of the Planet of the Apes, will produce the remake.

This remake is one of screenwriter O’Keefe’s various ongoing projects. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he also wrote the script for the upcoming Esperanza for director Jim Mickle. O’Keefe’s script The Paper Man is also notable for being on the Black List.
