The tension between Lil' Wayne and Cash Money are getting stronger.

Perez Hilton reports that the “Got Money” rap star is now suing his mentor, Birdman.

Wayne is suing Birdman for $8 million and is claiming that the fellow rapper violated his contract by not releasing his newest – and long awaited album – Tha Carter V.

The rap star claims that he is owed the $8 million because that is what he was promised as an advance for the new album.

While fans wait for the fifth in the Carter series to release, Wayne has been busy releasing his own mixtape on his own called Sorry 4 the Wait 2.

In it, he even disses Birdman. During the track, “Coco,” he raps, “Birdman Jr? More like ugly duckling” causing fans of the YMCMB label to wonder how much longer Wayne will be on it.

The new mix tape even has cover art that shows how independent Lil Wayne wants to be.

His cover portrays his wrist handcuffed while the other lays open and free.
