Mike Huckabee has made some shocking comments about Jay Z and Beyonce in his book God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy.

After watching their performance of “Drunk in Love” together at the Grammys in 2013, Huckabee referred to the rapper as a “pimp” who is “exploiting his wife.”

US News and World Report published the excerpt from his book, during which Huckabee praises Beyonce for her immense talent but argues Jay Z is pimping her out to the world.

“My reaction: Why? Beyonce is incredibly talented – gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing,” he wrote, going on to call her a “terrific dancer.”

He also believes her “explicit moves” should be saved for the “privacy of her bedroom.”

“Jay-Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?” he asked.

Huckabee’s comments are hardly the first time they’ve been dissed by a political pundit. Rush Limbaugh took Beyonce’s song “Bown Down/I Been On” to task in 2013, accusing her of becoming the opposite of what she stands for.

“[Destiny's Child's] songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men. She’s done a 180,” he said at the time. “Beyoncé, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy…she’s got a new song, ‘Bow, Down Bitches’… Beyoncé is now saying, ‘Go ahead and put up with it!’”
