You have to give Nicolas Cage credit for one thing: his choices are always unpredictable. Just like his next film, which will have him playing a man hunting down Osama Bin Laden in Army of One, the new satirical comedy from director Larry Charles (Borat).

The Hollywood Reporter reveals the new movie is based on the true story of Gary Faulkner, a Colorado construction worker who decides to find Bin Laden by himself. He goes as far as to sneak into Pakistan and Afganistan numerous times. Army of One is based loosely on Chris Health's article "An Army of One" in GQ back in September of 2010.

Harvey and Bob Weinstein struck a preemptive deal for North American rights for the film with their new TWC-Dimension label. This label's recent projects include Paddington and an upcoming remake of Six Billion Dollar Man remake, starring Mark Wahlberg. It will also be produced by Endgame Entertainment and Conde Nast Entertainment. FilmNation will also launch the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming Berlin International Film Festival at the beginning of February.

Army of One is gearing up to shoot at the end of March, with a release at the end of the year hopeful. The semi-scripted project is written by Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph (Draft Day).

Cage most recently starred in Left Behind, Rage, Joe and Dying of the Light last year. He has Outcast, The Runner and Pay the Ghost coming out this year.
