People likely know Bobby Farrelly as being one half of the Farrelly brothers, the filmmakers behind the Dumb and Dumber movies and There's Something About Mary. For Bobby's next project, One Night Stan, however, he's hoping to be recognized as his own person, because the director is using this new movie as the first time he does call the shots alongside his brother, Peter.

Variety reports the new comedy, which is launching sales at the Berlin International Film Festival next week, is expected to begin production this August. One Night Stand is being made through the company Foresight Unlimited.

While Peter is not helping Bobby direct this new comedy, he is on board as an executive producer, a title he shares with Tamara Birkemoe, Shaun Redick, Raymond Mansfield and Grant Cramer. Bobby, however, is producing the movie alongside Mark Damon of Foresight and Susanne Bohnet of Serafini Pictures. Neither Peter nor Bobby wrote the script, as writing credits were given to Kevin Barnett, Chris Pappas and Mike Bernier. This means One Night Stan becomes the first film Bobby directs without a screenwriting credit since 2005's Fever Pitch.

One Night Stan focuses on a charming man, known for hosting one-night-stands and his lack of committment to women, who falls for a new girl only to discover the lady has her own ideals about relationships.

Peter already tried his hand at directing by himself, but those efforts turned out to be a handful of shorts in the ill-gotten Movie 43. However, considering that just last year, the two directors work together resulted in the fairly — no pun intended — disappointing Dumb and Dumber To, maybe both have lost their mojo.
