Paul Feig has found his all-female Ghostbusters quartet. The Bridesmaids director appeared to confirm that Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig will star in the film.
Feig, who directed McCarthy in The Heat, just tweeted out pictures of Wiig and McCarthy. He also included Saturday Night Live stars Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon in the message. He didn’t write a caption though.
It doesn’t appear at the moment that the quarter have signed their contracts, though. Both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported that all four are still in negotiations.
It comes as no surprise that McCarthy would be included. Earlier this month, it was reported that Sony was trying to figure out the Mike & Molly star’s schedule to make sure that she could work with Feig again.
Feig is writing the film with his The Heat collaborator, Katie Dippold. Original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman is producing, after leaving the long-gestated third film in the franchise’s director’s chair after Harold Ramis’ death.
