Shaquille O'Neal will be executive producing and starring in a new scripted comedy on truTV.
The show, entitled Shaq Inc., will be a workplace comedy revolving around the team that runs the business empire of the former NBA star according to Variety.
"There is no denying Shaq’s multifaceted appeal,” said Chris Linn, president, head of programming for truTV. “Thus, we couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with him, as well as Mike Tollin and Mandalay Sports Media, as we continue to push into new formats.”
The pilot episode will be written by Jeremy Garelick according to the New York Post. Grelick's previous work inlcudes comedies such as The Wedding Ringer and The Breakup. John Fortenberry of Galavant and Instant Mom fame will direct while Dan Kaplow of Trophy Wife and Jon Weinbach of The Other Dream Team and Straight Outta L.A. will serve as co-executive producers on the pilot.
O'Neal played 19 seasons in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, LA Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
