The beginning of the new year is not bringing too many new films. Just two new releases hit theaters this weekend. Despite the lack of quantity, there’s plenty of entertainment.
Two women take in a group of orphaned children in The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. To keep them safe, the women move the children from the big city of London to a home in the country. What they thought would be a safe haven becomes just the opposite as evil envelops the home and the children begin to disappear. The PG-13 horror film runs for one hour and thirty-eight minutes.
The Search for General Tso attempts to uncover the mystery behind the popular Chinese-American dish. The one hour and twelve minute documentary uses research and comedy in the search for the origin of General Tso’s Chicken plate. The unrated film is available in limited theaters.
Some action is coming to the box office next weekend. Heading into theaters on January 9, is the third installment in the Taken film series and a new crime thriller with Ethan Hawke.
