Will Arnett is returning to Netflix, but not as G.O.B. Instead, he’s going to front his own series, titled Flaked.
Netflix put in an eight-episode order for the new series, reports Entertainment Weekly. It was created and written by Arnett with Mark Chappell. They will executive produce with Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, plus Ben Silverman and Peter Principato.
The series will be about self-appointed guru Chip (Arnett), who becomes interested in his best friend’s fascination. This leads to the web of lies and image that Chip has built around himself to crumble.
“We’re very excited to partner with Netflix–the home of original, original content–and the network I knew would be the ideal home for this passion project,” Arnett said in a statement.
Arnett became available for the show after CBS surprisingly cancelled The Millers just after the start of its second season. He already has a long history with Netflix, since he returned for the revived Arrested Development and voices a character on BoJack Horseman.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star said last summer that they were working on a fifth season of Arrested Development, but there’s been no news on that front recently.
Netflix is also working with Arnett’s 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which is available on March 6.
Flaked will be up in 2016.
