Two students were wounded in a shooting outside a Maryland high school on Wednesday while a basketball game was being played inside.

The Washington Post reported that the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. outside Frederick High School as the basketball team was playing its rival Governor Thomas Johnson High.

The Associated Press noted that Frederick Police Capt. Richard Hetherington said that arriving officers found two students shot at the scene. They were both transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities so far have not come up with a motive or have any suspects in the shooting. Dozens of students at the game were questioned by investigators.

The West Frederick Middle School and high school campus will be closed to students on Thursday, however, a crisis team will be on hand if needed.

Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner said she was “saddened by shooting at Frederick High School” and to “Pray for those involved.”

Fredrick Maryland is located about 45 miles outside of Washington DC.
