Rapper Afroman was arrested and charged with simple assault after he punched a female fan who got on stage with him at concert in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Video shows the 40-year-old musician, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, playing at a Mardi Gras concert Tuesday as a female fan danced on stage near him. A moment later, Afroman turns, appears to deliver a devastating blow, and the woman is on the ground.
The Associated Press reported that Biloxi police chief John Miller said the Because I Got High rapper was released that same evening after posting $330 bond.
Afroman later apologized for his actions in an interview on TMZ Live and on Facebook. He said that he mistakenly thought it was a male who had been heckling and bumped into him, not the female who had been dancing on stage.
“I thought it was that guy,” he said.
Did he think it would be fine to punch a male fan? Well, he did literally toss a man off stage before in Cincinnati, so if you attend one of his concerts you may want to steer clear of the stage.
Here is the video of the punch that knocked the unidentified woman to the ground.
And here is the video of the incident in Cincy last December.
