Authorities have said that at least nine people were found dead in rural Missouri, including the suspected gunman.
USA Today noted that Missouri State Highway Patrol said the bodies of eight people were found fatally shot, including the suspected gunman, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Another body of elderly woman was also found, however, authorities believe she died of natural causes.
KY3 reported that police received a call Thursday around 10:15 p.m. local time from a juvenile about hearing gunshots. The caller ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help.
Law enforcement officials found two of the deceased at a home in Tyrone, six deceased at separate residences and the 36-year-old suspect dead in a car.
All of the crime scenes are said to be within a short distance of one another.
The names of the victims have not yet been released and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
