When the Red Skull first debuted in 1941, his creators couldn’t imagine that anyone would want to look like him in real life. After all, the guy was a Nazi, wanted to kill Captain America and doesn’t have any skin on his face. But one Venezuelan comic book fan didn’t let facts like those get in the way of transforming his own face to look like Cap’s archnemesis.

Henry Damon, who now wants people to call him Red Skull, made modifications to his face, adding bumps on his forehead to make it look like he has his eyes set deep in his head. To complete the look, he just had part of his nose chopped off.

“He has loved comic books since he was a kid and always dreamed of being Red Skull, but never got round to doing it,” his friend, Pablo Hernandez, told The Mirror. “Then he met up with a brilliant surgeon who specialises in extreme body modifications and just knew that this was his opportunity.”

That surgeon is med-school dropout Emilio Gonzalez, reports The Daily Mail. Damon then went physical and psychological tests, just to make sure he was totally sane before he was made to look like an insane criminal mastermind.

“Henry aka Red Skull is a physically and intellectually healthy person,” Gonzalez said. “He's an excellent son, husband and father, who has an extreme taste for body modification.”

Gonzalez explained that Damon still has more work to do. He wants to have his entire head tattooed and have his cheekbones adjusted.

Damon is happily married.
