There’s a great line from the television show Golden Girls during a mystery crime theater dinner when Dorothy tells someone that a young woman is not likely to marry an older man “for his body.” Well, in the case of one woman who wanted to marry convicted killer Charles Manson, this turned out to be true…in a way.
The New York Post reported that the woman, whose name is Afton Elaine Burton but goes by Star, wanted to marry him so she could put his corpse on display in a glass coffin after his death.
Charles Manson is in prison for orchestrating the murders of actress Sharon Tate and three others who were at her home in Aug. 1969, as well as her unborn son. Other members of the “Manson” family have also been indicted in their murders, including the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.
Journalist Daniel Simone revealed to The Post that the 80-year-old Manson does not want to be put on display and “He’s finally realized that he’s been played for a fool.”
Plus, Manson also wasn’t interested since he feels that he is immortal and will never die anyway. Okay, whatever you say.
According to Daily Mail, Simone has spoken at length with Manson for plans in writing a book about the infamous killer. Simone made the claim that Manson only pretended he intended to marry Star since she brought presents to the jail in Corcoran, Ca. where he is incarcerated.
As previously reported, the couple received a marriage license last year and had until February to marry. However, Manson has been in the hospital due to an infection and was unable to receive visitors, so their license expired.
