As if it wasn’t already certain, Dave Bautista’s career is quickening. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor will play the villainous Kurgan in the reboot of Highlander.

The news was first reported by Latino Review. The reboot will be directed by first-timer Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.

This is just one of several jobs Bautista has lined up since his big break as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. As we noted, the former wrestler is currently shooting the twenty-fourth James Bond film, titled Spectre, in which he will play “Mr. Hinx.” Bautista will also be seen in the films Kickboxer and Bus 657.

The original Highlander, directed by Russell Mulcahy, starred Christopher Lambert as a Scottish immortal named Connor MacLeod who seeks the Prize, a reward for defeating all other immortals. In that film, Clancy Brown played the Kurgan, a ruthless immortal and MacLeod’s final opponent. Sean Connery also starred as Ramirez, MacLeod’s mentor.

No other roles have been cast as of yet, though Ryan Reynolds at one point attached to play MacLeod.
