Drew Peterson, the Florida man who was found guilty of killing his third wife and is suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife, is now being accused of hiring a hit man to try and kill a prosecutor.
According to WLS-TV, Peterson attempted to get a hit man to have Will County State Attorney James Glasgow killed. He was the prosecutor who tried him during Peterson’s murder trial.
Peterson made headlines back in 2007 when his wife, Stacy, disappeared. While she has never been found, her case caused the 2004 murder of his third wife Kathleen Savio to be reopened. She was found dead in her bathtub and it had been ruled an accident.
In this current case, Peterson allegedly made the attempts between Sep. 13 and Dec. 14 of last year. He faces charges of solicitation of murder as well as solicitation of murder for hire.
Sun-Times Media Wire reported that Peterson appeared in court on Monday for his murder-for-hire plot.
For the solicitation of murder charge, he could get a minimum of 15 years while the solicitation of murder for hire carries a minimum of 20 years. He is already serving his sentence of 38 years for the murder of Savio. He is being held at the Menard Correctional Center in Illinois.
