The 2015 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will certainly be an eclectic affair. Music by country star Toby Keith, The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter and pop star Cyndi Lauper will be celebrated.

The diverse Hall of Fame class also features Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon and Linda Perry.

“Our 2015 lineup of inductees represents the rich diversity of American musical styles – Rock, Country, Blues and Pop – that have captivated the world over the past six decades,” SHOF President & CEO Linda Moran said in a statement. “Each one of these brilliant music creators have written instantly recognizable classics, songs that are both of their time and timeless. Our Annual Awards Gala is sure to be unforgettable.”

Braddock wrote 13 No. 1 singles, including Tammy Wynette’s “D.I.V.O.R.C.E.,” George Jones and Wynette’s “Golden Ring” and Terry Lawrence’s “Time Marches On.” He also wrote Keith’s 2001 hit “I Wanna Talk About Me.” He is also responsible for discovering Blake Shelton.

Dixon is widely recognized as one of the fathers of blues and will be inducted posthumously. His songs - including “Hoochie Coochie Man” and “You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover” - have been covered by musicians across various genres. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980.

Hunter and the late Garcia collaborated on some of the Grateful Dead’s most beloved songs, from “Casey Jones” to “Friend of the Devil.” Hunter was the group’s official lyricist and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the group.More recently, Hunter worked with Bob Dylan on Together Through Life.

Keith is one of the top country stars today and has written many of his hits himself, including “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “Who’s Your Daddy,” “Beer For My Horses” and “I Love This Bar.”

Lauper wrote many of her own hits, including “Broken Glass,” “Time After Time” and “She Bop.”

Lastly, Perry is a songwriter who has worked with Pink, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani. She was a producer on Pink’s M!ssundaztood and co-wrote Aguilera’s “Beautiful.”

The induction ceremony is slated for June 18 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
