Fans of the X-Men franchise can possbily look forward to seeing Hugh Jackman portray Wolverine for years to come.

According to Inquisitr, Jackman revealed that he would like to continue playing the mutant superhero for as long as he's alive. Although he's played the character in seven different films, Jackman said that he tries to delve deeper into the character with each performance.

“Every time I play Wolverine I want to go further, physically and emotionally,” Jackman remarked.

E! Online reports that Jackman was even more inspired to keep the Wolverine role after watching the Oscar-winning film Birdman, which stars Michael Keaton as a former actor famous for playing a superhero.

“The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine," Jackman said. "I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die."

Jackman acknowledged that the character will most likely be recasted someday and would like to see it happen because it would mean the role has become iconic.
