Kate Beckinsale, Chloe Sevigny and writer/director Whit Stillman haven't worked together since their work in The Last Days of Disco back in 1998. That will soon change, however, as they reunite for Stillman's latest film Love and Friendship.
The Playlist reports Stillman's film, based on Jane Austen's novella Lady Susan, is finally moving forward after years in development. Set in the 1790s, it centers on Lady Susan Vernon (Beckinsale), a widow who goes to her in-laws estate to wait out rumors circulating through her society.
Also cast in this new movie is Xavier Samuel, Emma Greenwell, Morfydd Clark, Jemma Redgrave, James Fleet, Tom Bennett and newylwed Stephen Fry. There's no word on when filming is set to begin for this new project.
Also not clear is how this project is going to work with Stillman's Amazon series The Cosmopolitians, which aired its pilot some time ago and got some extra episodes greenlit.
