The general manager of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will be resigning following the many snow delays the transit company had this winter.

The Associated Press reported that Beverly Scott did not give a reason for her resignation Wednesday. However, frustration in and around the Boston area has been building due to the snow many delays passengers have had to deal with recently.

The Boston Business Journal noted that Scott’s resignation, which will be effective in April, comes one day after the entire system was shut down following another of major snowfall in the region.

"I will place priority attention on working with our team to return 'T' services to normalcy following these unprecedented weather conditions," she said letter of resignation.

Parts of Boston have received so much snowfall that the city is actually running out of space to put it all.

Scott was appointed to the position three years ago. Her performance has been criticized by Gov. Charlie Baker, who took office last month.
