Authorities have said that a Michigan woman fatally shot herself while she was trying to adjust her bra holster.

Uncover Michigan reported that Christina Bond, 55, accidentally shot herself on Jan.1, but police just released the details about the incident on Wednesday.

"She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to. She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon", said St. Joseph Public Safety Director Mark Clapp told the Kalamazoo Gazette.

MLive noted that police responded to Bond’s home just after 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day and found her with a gunshot wound to her eye from a .22-caliber revolver. She was taken to a local hospital where she died the next day.

Bond was a mother of two boys and worked as a bookkeeper and officer administrator for the Road to Life Church for 15 years. She also served in U.S. Navy after high school.
