Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion was arrested Tuesday night after being pulled over by police. He was arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana and a firearm.
Florida police pulled Guion over just after 11 p.m. for failure to maintain a single lane. The officer that pulled Guion over said that he could smell marijuana coming from Guion’s vehicle. Guion was asked to step out of his truck and the vehicle was searched. During the search a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, which Guion said is registered to him, and 357 grams of marijuana were found, according to Fox Sports.
One of the bags that had marijuana in it also contained $190,028.
Guion was “extremely hostile and uncooperative” during the search, according to the police report.
The Packers said the team is aware of the situation.
"We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion. We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment," a team spokesman said.
Guion joined the Packers last offseason, signing a one-year, $1 million contract. He was in negotiations with the Packers for a long-term deal.
This past season Guion had a career best 3.5 sacks, ESPN noted. He also had 32 tackles.
Guion was released on a $100,000 bond.
