It appears the July 31st spot continues to be in a state of flux, as there's yet another mix-up to the schedule. This time, the Point Break remake moves from its July slot to Christmas Day. Meanwhile, the Rocky spin-off Creed — which just started production — has nabbed a Thanksgiving-ready release on November 25.

Box Office Mojo announced the schedule changes. Point Break does the exact opposite of what Mission: Impossible 5 did, as the action sequel jumped from its Christmas release up to July 31. Also set to be released on July 31 at one point was the Sacha Baron Cohen-comedy Grimsby, but that got moved back to February 26, 2016.

Point Break joins the likes of David O. Russell's Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence, the Will Smith-starring drama Concussion, Monster Trucks and Alvin and the Chipmunks 4. Left still in the July slot, besides the aforementioned action sequel, are the Jake Gyllenhaal-boxing film Southpaw and Self/Less.

As far as Creed, which stars Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone and also Tessa Thompson (Dear White People, Selma), the Rocky spin-off gets in the ring with Ridley Scott's The Martian, Pixar's The Good Dinosaur, Warner Bros.' Midnight Special and the untitled Christmas film reuniting 50/50 stars Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Creed reunites Jordan with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler to tell the story of Apollo Creed's grandson, who is trained by none other than Mr. Balboa himself.

With such tight competition in both release dates, Warner Bros. certainly seems to have high hopes for both releases. It's interesting to see the studio host two releases on the same Thanksgiving date, so perhaps expect yet another change up to the schedule with Midnight Special moving to who-knows-what date.
