For anyone who has taken a cruise to the Western Caribbean and thought, “This would be so much better if there were Stormtroopers onboard,” Disney is making that dream a reality. Disney Cruise Line announced on Wednesday that it will be adding a Star Wars Day to the Disney Fantasy voyage.
Star Wars Day At Sea, which will be similar to the Star Wars Weekend events held at Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando, will first appear in 2016. The activities will be for Star Wars fans of all ages.
Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, stormtroopers and many other characters will appear on deck during special meet and greet sessions. The Jedi Training Academy experience will also teach young Padawans about the ways of the Force. Hopefully, the sea breeze doesn’t impede their ability to use the Force.
There will also be trivia games and a special Mos Eisley Cantina for the adults. Disney will also have screenings of all six Star Wars films, plus episodes of Star Wars Rebels.
That night, there will be a Star Wars-themed deck party and fireworks.
Star Wars Day at Sea makes its debut during the Jan. 9-23, 2016 Disney Fantasy cruise. You can already book your trip here. Since Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be open in theaters by then, it will be interesting to see if Disney screens that film too.
