Three men in Union County, North Carolina have been accused of stabbing and mutilating a llama.

James Robert Lee, 18; Alexander Samuel, 20; and Cody Wyatt Bray, 22, were charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, second-degree trespassing and cruelty to animals, reports WCNC.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says that the three men went to a llama and alpaca farm, where they chased one of the llamas. They then stabbed it and cut the body in half. Authorities found the two halves in different places.

MyFox8 reports that the three men are currently in jail, with Clark’s bond set at $9,000, Lee’s at $2,000 and Bray’s at $10,000.

The 10-year-old llama’s name was Mighty and her owner, Tammy Limer, called the attack “henios.”

“It was a horrible death. She was one of my pets,” Limer told WCNC. “I know these animals well enough to know that she laid there and screamed.”

She said that her llamas and alpacas will no longer go to the back of the farm, since thet’s where Mighty was attacked.
