It’s official. After the Super Bowl, it is clear that of all of the ads that aired during the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots football game, the clear winner for ads is all about the cuteness and furriness.
USA Today ranked the Super Bowl commercials as they have done for 26 years and the number one ad was the Budweiser “Lost Dog” commercial that has won everyone’s hearts. The ad brought back the Budweiser puppy from last year, and featured his efforts to get back home after being lost.
For their Ad Meter ranking score, they compiled the list based on scores by 7,000 individual panelists. The Budweiser commercial had an average of 8.1 votes. In the number two spot was the Always brand commercial “Like A Girl,” which focused on the stereotypes that are put on girls as they grow during puberty. This spot got an average of 7.1 votes.
At number 12 was the Snickers ad featuring Carol and Mike Brady getting their daughter, “Marcia,” played by Danny Trejo, to calm down by eating the candy bar. The domestic violence ad that was based on a real life 911 call was at the #14 spot while Katie Couric’s BMW ad took the #18 position.
According to TIME, Hulu’s AdZone also ranked the “Lost Dog” commercial number one and it was shared over 2.1 million times on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
