Evacuation is underway for some towns in West Virginia after a train derailed, causing an oil tanker to fall into the river.

According to KDKA, the incident occurred in Fayette County and oil from a tanker was leaking oil into the river.

WOWK-TV reported that they were also shutting down Route 61 and the towns being evacuated included Adena Village and Boomer Bottom.

The West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety communications director, Lawrence Messina, spoke saying that officials were unaware of any other contents inside the tanker besides oil and that the Department of Environmental Protection were responding to the scene as well.

There is still no word on what happened when the accident occurred, but it happened around 4 miles from the town of Montgomery at around 1:30 pm. A shelter at Valley High School in the area is being set up for individuals who have been asked to evacuate the area.

The Associated Press reported that no injuries have been reported, but that the derailment did cause a house fire near where the derailment occurred.
