We know who puts on the Wonder Woman costume in DC's cinematic universe (Gal Gadot), and also who calls the shots on her standalone film (Michelle MacLaren of Breaking Bad). We were even told when the movie's scheduled to come to theaters: June 23, 2017. Now, fans know when cameras roll on Wonder Woman: this fall.

The news came out when Deadline reported on Gadot circling Greg Mottola's (Superbad) Keeping Up with the Jonses. While it was buried in their report, they revealed the vague production start date when they talked up Gadot upcoming schedule, which includes her soon to be seen in Criminal in August and Triple Nine before starring in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice early next year. It appears she hopes to squeeze drama in this April before dawning her Wonder Woman attire for the second time at the end of 2015.

This production date makes sense in conjunction to the planned release date, as it would give MacLaren and her crew enough time to shoot the new movie and get the VFX ready before the superhero flick hits theaters.

Scripted by Jason Fuchs (the upcoming Pan), Wonder Woman gives audiences a good understanding of the female superhero introduced in the upcoming 2016 feature before she joins Batman, Superman and the rest of the gang in Justice League: Part 1 on November 17, 2017. While there's little turnaround from standalone feature to group team up, it appears Warner Bros. has no worries about fans getting around to seeing the new movie before they, once again, team up to save the world.

In addition to these upcoming movies, it appears the studio wants a trilogy made out of MacLaren's new movie. This first film is set to center on the superhero's first contact with the outside world in the 1920s. There's no word yet on what the other films entail.

As seen by MacLaren's work in Breaking Bad and her recent episode of Better Call Saul, she's an accomplished director with a lot of creditability under her belt if not a lot of feature films to her name. Even if this big-budget film becomes one of her first features, at least she's got the skills and confidence to hopefully pull it off.
