The CEO of Germanwings has said that two Americans were among those killed in Tuesday’s plane crash in the French Alps.

The Washington Post noted that the Germanwings executive announced that the American victims on board the flight have been identified as Yvonne Selke and her daughter Emily Selke of Nokesville, Virginia.

As previously reported, the Airbus A320 crashed in the French Alps Tuesday morning near the ski resort of Pra Loup and officials deployed to the site later recovered the plane’s black box.

Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash and so far are puzzled as to why the jet dropped off its flight path. Experts will now try rebuild the black box in order to get a glimpse into what could have went wrong.

One French official said that a terrorist attack was highly unlikely, but that every possible option was being explored.

All 150 people on board the aircraft were killed. The flight left Spain and was bound for Germany. Many of the other passengers were German.
