Burger King’s Chicken Fries are back, and this time, for good. The fast food chain announced today that the french fry-shaped chicken strips will always be available at its restaurants.
The return began with promotional visits by a chicken named Gloria, which Burger King sent to locations to decide which ones would serve Chicken Fries for a day. Burger King saw how popular they are and ultimately decided that they should be around for good.
“The conviction of Chicken Fries fans never ceases to amaze us,” Eric Hirschhorn, chief marketing officer North America for Burger King, said in a statement. “Chicken Fries have taken over their brains, not to mention, their appetites. So we’re happy to tell devoted fans, and newbies alike, that we’re giving them exactly what they asked for: Chicken Fries are back for good.”
They were first introduced back in 2005 and were removed in 2012. Since then, they had only been brought back periodically, like in August 2014. But they were gone by October, notes USA Today.
To help promote the relaunch, Burger King is making a Chicken Fries emoji keyboard available at the iTunes and Google Play app stores. They will also hand out stickers when you order them.
