Alysa Bathrick, the 18-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, whose mugshot went viral thanks to her tweets about it, has been arrested again. This time, police picked her up for shoplifting.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office’s records show that she was arrested on March 2 and has since been released from custody on bond, notes The New York Daily News.
This was actually her third arrest. She had also been arrested in North Carolina on two assault charges.
Bathrick’s mugshot went viral in December 2014 when she tweeted it and captioned it, “Surrendered myself at 7 a.m., got released at 11:30 a.m. F**k what you heard. And my mugshot's cute. #ftp.” The post has been retweeted 2,900 times. When asked what she was arrested for, she replied, “xanax homie.”
Bathrick has continued to use Twitter and is now up to 19,400 followers. While she didn’t tweet about her latest arrest directly, she did write, “It's never too late to reinvent yourself.. :-).” In another post, she wrote, “Ohmygod, ohmygod; when I die I'm a legend.”
Perhaps after she gets her life together, she can meet her “Hot Mugshot Guy” counterpart, Jeremy Meeks. That is, after he gets out of prison.
