Fifty Shades of Grey continues to break records for Universal. The film has now become the studio’s highest-grossing R-rated international release.
The film has now surpassed Ted, which made $330 million, and has made $338.4 million internationally. So far it’s made $147.7 million domestically.
Variety reports the fillm has topped the charts for the third week in a row.
Even though it is making history, the amount of viewers has dropped significantly since it first hit theaters.
Will Smith and Margot Robbie’s Focus won the domestic box office with $19.1 million this past weekend while Fifty Shades made $10.9 million, which is less than half of last week’s numbers. Internationally, Focus made $12.2 million while Fifty Shades made $36 million.
The film made history last month, becoming the highest grossing February opening ever.
