Fifty Shades of Grey might have slowed down at the box office at home, but the film is still heating up theaters around the world. The erotic romance has reached a major milestone at the international box office.

Universal Pictures said today that the film has passed the $500 million mark internationally, reports Variety. It’s already a bigger success in foreign markets, as it has grossed $350 million outside of the U.S.

At home, the film got off to a record-breaking start, grossing $93 million on Valentine’s Day weekend. However, Fifty Shades was overwhelmingly frontloaded. It plummeted to $23.2 million in its second weekend and only made $10.9 million this past weekend.

Still, the movie only cost Universal $40 million to make. It was directed by Sam Taylor Johnson and features Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively. There have been rumors that Fifty Shades novelist E.L. James is in talks to write the script for the sequel, which still hasn’t officially been greenlit.

Fifty Shades is now the top-grossing R-rated film in Universal’s history internationally.
