The director of Guardians of the Galaxy has revealed the story behind the closing scene of the superhero film.

At the end of the film, a reborn Groot is seen dancing but quickly stops when Drax the Destroyer spots him. IGN reports that James Gunn appeared as a guest on Doug Benson's Doug Loves Movies podcast and said that a deleted scene explained Baby Groot's behavior. Gunn said the scene involved Groot dancing to "Livin' Thing" by ELO before getting a disapproving look from Drax.

"It wasn't such an elaborate dance. It was more that he was just moving up and down like this, and Drax was dismissive and gave him this look like he was a loser when he did that," said Gunn.

Gunn went on to say that Drax probably doesn't understand the concept of dancing and Groot felt like he might have been killed if he were caught. Dancing Baby Groot proved to be a hit with audiences and was even turned into its own toy.

Fans of the film can look forward to seeing Groot and Drax along with the rest of the Guardians when Guardians of the Galaxy 2 arrives in theaters on May 5 2017.
