Guy Ritchie has tweeted out the first image of Charlie Hunnam in his role of as King Arthur.
The Wrap reported that Ritchie was on set for the first day of filming on his latest feature film Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. It is expected to be released July 22, 2016.
In the image that was tweeted shows off Hunnam with his hair slicked back and a beard, while wearing traditional historical clothing for that time period.
The movie will also feature Jude Law, Djimon Hounsu, and Astrid Berges-Frisbey. The Hollywood Reporter added that Astrid Berges-Frisbey, will be playing the female lead of Guinevere.
Warner Bros. has also released the synopsis for the film, which will focus on a younger Arthur and how his life is changed upon the discovery of Excalibur.
This is the first role for Hunnam after the series finale of the biker-drama Sons of Anarchy. He will also be appearing in Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak.
