Hilary Duff was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today and she certainly looked different. That’s because she has traded her blonde hair for green. She explained where she got the inspiration for the new color, which came while on vacation.
“I've never done anything like this, and I was just in Cabo [San Lucas, Mexico] with my son and I was staring at the ocean and I was like, 'I want that on my head,'” she told DeGeneres, notes ABC News. “So this happened.”
Her son, Luca, actually approves the new look, even though he never likes it when she does anything else to her hair, she said. It has to be down for him, but changing colors is OK.
“Now he likes to go through his roster of colors that he knows,” she said. “He's like, 'Your hair's purple,' and I'm like, 'No, it's green.' He's like, 'Nah.' I'm like, 'Yeah.' He's like, 'It's blue.' 'No.' 'It's purple.' 'No.'"
DeGeneres also needed an explanation for the sexy bikini selfie she posted two weeks ago on Instagram. It was a big departure from her usually tame posts.
“I had spent all weekend in a bikini, and I was feeling pretty good. I’m just like everyone else. Usually, I'm not feeling so good. I [have a] love-hate relationship with my body,” Duff explained, notes Us Weekly. “[But] I was on a trip with my son, and it's been three years since I had him. I'm just so proud of my body and what it’s done for me.”

Duff is currently working on a new album and recently split from Luca’s father, Mike Comrie.
