Tom Ford has only made one movie, but it was so good that everyone wants to work on his second one. The fashion mogul is reportedly hoping to get Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams for the project.
Talks with the two Oscar nominees is in the very early stages, according to Variety, which first reported the news. Sources told the site that Adams and Gyllenhaal have been pushing to get the lead roles in the film.
The film, titled Nocturnal Animals, is coming together incredibly quickly. It was only last month that Ford announced that he had finally written a script for his follow-up to 2009’s acclaimed A Single Man. Then, earlier this week, George Clooney and Grant Heslov came aboard as producers.
Nocturnal Animals is based on Austin Wright’s novel Tony And Susan. In the book, Susan mysteriously receives a manuscript from her ex-husband. The manuscript is called Nocturnal Animals and is about a family vacation that becomes violent.
Adams is a five-time Oscar nominee and just appeared in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes. Her next project is Story of Your Life, although she will be seen as Lois Lane in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
As for Gyllenhaal, he’s still looking for his elusive second Oscar nomination after his performance in Nightcrawler was snubbed this year. His upcoming films include Everest, Demolition and Southpaw.
