Jana Kramer is defending her home state of Michigan following Madonna making negative comments about Michigan. Kramer is from Detroit, Michigan.

Madonna was asked by US Weekly about growing up in Michigan and said that "I miss absolutely nothing about growing up in Michigan, nothing at all."

Taste of Country reported that Kramer took to Instagram to defend Michigan. She started the post by saying that she used to be proud of the fact that she and Madonna went on to the same high school.

"She said awful things about my high school and now reading US Weekly she says this. She has a right to her opinion obviously but I would like to just state … my BEST memories of childhood and my life thus far was growing up in Michigan. I am so proud of my state and where I will forever call home in my heart," Kramer wrote.

The "I Got The Boy" singer ended her post with positive thoughts about spending time up north in Michigan and said that she will always love and respect her hometown. "Michigan, I love you and will never forget the state that raised me.”
