Joseph Gordon-Levitt joins Red, Gobo and Mokey down at Fraggle Rock.
Gordon-Levitt who has been in show business since early childhood recently blossomed into something more than just another actor when he wrote the screenplay for and starred in 2013’s Don Jon. A new endeavor of his will be producing for and acting in the movie production of Fraggle Rock.
HBO aired the musical puppet series in 1983 that was created by the late Jim Henson and the story centered on cave-dwelling creatures called Fraggles who had crazy adventures in which they have to deal with the industrious Doozers and furry giants called Gorgs.
The movie adaptation has been in the works for nearly a decade, but now with Gordon-Levitt being attached to the project makes it more of a reality.
“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on ‘Sesame Street,’ and then on ‘Fraggle Rock’, Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.”, Gordon-Levitt said in a statement about the new project.
Gordon-Levitt is currently filming Snowden which has a release in the U.S. during Christmas of 2015. He is also working on other projects.
