Kelly Osbourne didn’t go into too much detail about what lead to her decision to leave Fashion Police, but the tabloids are doing that for her. As suspected, Giuliana Rancic’s ill-conceived joke about Zendaya’s hair wasn’t the only reason.

While on The Talk Tuesday with her mom, Sharon Osbourne, Kelly had nothing but kind things to say about her five years on the show.

“It was the five best working years of my life,” she said. “I am so grateful for the experience — working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible. I learned so much and I’m excited for my future. I want to try new things.”

That was as detailed as she got, but there were reports that Kelly didn’t leave just because of Rancic’s joke about Kelly’s friend Zendaya. TMZ claimed that Kelly was not happy with the direction the show was going after Joan Rivers’ death in September. Producers were also not reportedly happy with her behavior.

A source also told The New York Post’s Page Six last week that Kelly was “furious” with how E! handled the situation. She didn’t like that Rancic claimed that Kelly didn’t complain about the joke when it was being filmed, but she did, repeatedly. (There was a rumor that the joke was filmed more than once, but E! insisted that it was only filmed once.)

It’s still not clear who will replace Kelly on Fashion Police. There has been speculation that Khloe Kardashian or Nene Leakes might take the job, but E! hasn’t made a decision.
