A television host from Lebanon was having none of it when a London-based Sheikh who told her to “shut up” during an on-air interview.

According to The Guardian, Rima Karaki, who is also a professor at a university, was interviewing Islamist scholar Sheikh Hani Al-Siba’i and they were discussing reports in which Christians were joining ISIS. The interview aired March 2 on Al-Jadeed TV.

During the course of the interview, he began talking about the history of people who would join the “leftist revolutionary movement.” Because he went off on a tangent, Karaki had interrupted him so they could focus on the topic.

However, this did not sit well with him and he replied, “I will answer as I please. I will not answer the way you like, because I’m here to serve the idea in which I believe.” Despite trying to be respectful, Karaki kept being interrupted during his rant.

The Huffington Post UK reported that after he went on to tell her to “shut up” and also said being interviewed by her specifically was “beneath him,” Karaki cut the interview off.

Karaki had tried to explain they wanted to hear from him, but there wasn’t enough time for a longer answer. After finally cutting him off when Al-Siba’i began to say, “You are a woman who…” Karaki spoke about the fact that there needed to be “mutual respect” or there would be no conversation.
