Authorities in Connecticut said a 15-year-old and a 22-year-old have been charged in the fatal stabbing of a man for spilling coffee.
According to the Stamford Advocate, police said that Antonio Muralles, 52, was leaving a McDonald’s restaurant with coffee last Wednesday. On his way out, he bumped into the teen and spilled his beverage on him.
NBC Connecticut reported that authorities said Muralles tried to apologize, but the teen and his group of friends instead allegedly began beating him.
"Words were exchanged and then without warning, he was viciously attacked and stabbed through the heart -- a very heinous, tragic incident," Capt. Richard Conklin said.
Since the entire incident occurred right outside of the McDonald’s, police were able to speak to some eyewitnesses and obtain video footage of what took place. They have since arrested both James McLamb, 22, of New Haven, and the 15-year-old Stamford boy.
The unidentified teen is allegedly the one who stabbed the victim and McLamb is said to have allegedly assaulted Muralles with brass knuckles during the attack. The suspects have each been charged with first-degree murder and third person is still being sought.
