According to his daughter, boxing legend Muhammad Ali is supporting Manny Pacqiuao in his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Uproxx reports that Ali's daughter Rasheda said that while her father won't be in attendance for the fight he will be firmly in Pacquiao's corner. She said that Pacquiao and her father have a good relationship and that Ali admires him for his character.
“My dad really likes Manny. He’s a huge fan of his," she said. “He knows Manny’s a great fighter … but it’s more about what he does outside the ring. He’s such a charitable person.”
According to CBS Sports, Ali is a fan of the Manny Pacquiao fund which seeks to help underpriviledged people in Pacquiao's home country of the Philippines. During his career, Ali himself was active politically and socially.
Like most people Ali had been pushing for a Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. fight for quite some time. With the date set for May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the world will be waiting to see is Ali's pick is right.
