Authorities in Florida have said that the earlier reports of gunfire at Lil Wayne’s mansion was all a hoax.

Yahoo Celebrity noted that the Miami Beach Police Department said that neither Lil Wayne nor any other victims were found shot at his La Gorce Island mansion, debunking earlier reports about gunfire. The call that was made about such an incident turned out to be a hoax.

"We can say for sure it was a hoax," Miami Beach Police Public Information Officer Ernesto Rodriguez said.

As previously reported, a caller dialed 911 around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday and said that there was a shooting at the rapper’s home and threatened to open fire on arriving officers. Prank calls similar to this are referred to as swatting because a SWAT team is usually dispatched to the home due to the threat. This incident was no different and officers had to determine that there was in fact no threat.

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was not home at the time that this was going on.

Police are now trying to determine who made the false call.
