Rihanna will be headlining the upcoming NCAA March Madness Music Festival and is currently promoting her latest single "American Oxygen" but while on the road she is opening up about her past singles and how she is looking ahead.

In an interview with MTV, she opened up about why her next album will be the worth the wait for fans and that is putting some of her biggest singles behind her. "I wanted to kind of just get back to... not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever," explained Rihanna.

The "We Found Love" singer said that she wanted to work on an album that would last the test of time and that would feature songs that wouldn't be tired out in a few years. "I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years, not any songs that were burned out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don't want to perform a lot of my songs because they don't feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless."

LA Times added that Rihanna's eight album is rumored to be titled R8 and a release date has yet to be announced.
