The runways at LaGuardia Airport in New York are closed Thursday following a scary moment when a Delta Airlines flight skidded off the runway.
ABC 7 reported that the incident in which Flight 1086 from Atlanta to LaGuardia skidded off the left side of runway 13, happened around 11 a.m. All the runways are now closed.
The passenger jet was sent crashing through a fence and lost its right wing, however, at this time, no injuries to anyone on board have been reported.
TMZ Sports noted that among the more than 100 passengers on board was New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell. As he exited the plane, he took a few pictures and posted them to Instagram. One of his captions read, "Look at this s**t! Knew I shoulda stayed my ass at home."
The winter snowstorm blanking the Northeast is thought to be the reason for the accident, but the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting a full investigation.
The Port Authority said that shutting down the runways after something like this is a standard procedure.
