One year ago today, Malaysia Airlines flight 370 disappeared midflight and even now, there are no answers of how the plane went missing or where it is.

Fox News reported that despite searching over 1.8 million square miles of the Indian Ocean, where the flight is believed to have crossed before the disappearance, there was nothing found of either the plane or any human remains from the 239 passengers and crew on the flight.

As previously reported, the civil aviation authority for Malaysia officially declared the victims dead in January and families of the victims were offered $50,000 for each victim. The plane vanished during a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, to Beijing.

CBS News reported in a discussion with the transportation minister for Malaysia, the official had hopes that the “priority zone” would be expected to be completed in May and they hope that a piece of the missing plane will be found by then.

Only 40 percent of the “priority zone,” where searchers have focused on, has been scanned in order to attempt to locate the plane.
