Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, the Broadway hit that uses the iconic songs written by Carole King, will be turning into a film soon. Sony Pictures Entertainment said Sunday that it will be producing the movie.

Sony is an unsurprising home for the project. As the New York Times notes, corporate sibling Sony/ATV owns many of the songs in the show. Songs performed in the show include “Beautiful,” “The Locomotion,” “So Far Away” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”

Beautiful was a Broadway smash, earning a Tony nomination for Best Musical of 2014. Jessie Mueller won a Tony for her starring role. The sound design also won a Tony.

Hollywood has struggled with turning Broadway smash hits into musicals as of late, with both Jersey Boys and Rock of Ages failing at the box office. Sony recently remake Annie, but it only grossed $85.9 million. Disney did have success with Into The Woods and Universal’s Les Miserables was a big hit in 2012.

King wrote many of her big hits with Gerry Goffin, who died in June 2014. Their relationship is central to the musical’s plot.
