Taylor Swift has signed off on streaming her albums on Jay Z’s new streaming service TIDAL. Almost all of her albums, excluding her newest 1989, became available on Tuesday.
Back in January it was reported the “Drunk in Love” rapper bought the company for $56 million.
Of course, this is a big deal because Swift pulled all of her albums from one of the most popular streaming services, Spotify, in Novemeber, in an effort to lobby for artists getting better compensation. Fellow artists, even her ex John Mayer, have praised her for this.
Mayer explained, “Artists need the person with the loudest voice to speak for them.”
CNN reports Jay Z’s TIDAL will set customers back $19.99 a month and it’s referring to itself as "the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial."
