Don't tell him what he can't do. Terry O'Quinn will soon be returning to ABC as the male lead in a brand new drama series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Terry O'Quinn has been cast in the upcoming pilot, The Adversaries.
The legal drama will focus on the head of a law firm who becomes caught up in a trial, leaving his federal-prosecutor daughter conflicted about which side to take. O'Quinn will play Charlie, who heads the law firm Fisher, Fisher and Herrero. Charlie is estranged from his wife and daughter, both of whom blame Charlie for the death of his son, Kyle.
The pilot will be written by David Zabel, best known for his work on ER. Zabel will also serve as executive producer. The pilot will be directed by Stephen Cragg, who has directed episodes for many network shows including Agent Carter, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy and ER.
Terry O'Quinn is best known for his iconic role as John Locke on Lost. He was absolutely incredible in that series, totally helping to define what Lost was and giving a brilliant performance right up until the last episode. However, since Lost went off the air he has struggled to really land another majorly successful role like this. He starred in ABC's 666 Park Avenue, but that show unfortunately did not catch on and was cancelled after only 13 episodes.
O'Quinn also recently starred in Gang Related and Hawaii Five-0, but he has definitely yet to find anything as big and iconic as John Locke. Though the new legal drama won't see Quinn playing a kind of fantastical character like he did in Lost and 666 Park Avenue, it should still be great to see him as the lead character in a TV show again.
